Running for the month of February beginning on the 5th, and ending March 1st, the Mary Lou Zeek Gallery will be hosting their annual Benefit Exhibit, 100 Artists Show, with a portion of the proceeds going to Poyama Day Treatment. The theme of each benefit is representative of the type of work the selected organization provides. The mental well-being of children is the theme chosen for Poyama. The title is "What’s Inside", Exploring the Potential for Change.
The gallery has chosen 100 artists to participate in this exhibit. Each artist has been sent a wooden box as their starting point for their creative process, keeping in mind the theme. At some point each artist will ask a child between the ages of 3 and 12 one of four "What’s Inside" Questions. The child’s answer will be recorded and put inside the box. There will be a silent auction of the boxes throughout the month of February. The bidding will officially stop at 6 pm on February 29th.
It’s certain to be an impressive, fun and even illuminating event. On "First Wednesday", February 6th, there will be a reception for the participating artists and it is open for the general public.
